ATLAS!!!

Our little angel is back. A little confused but hasn't missed a beat! He is laying by the back door which doesn't have finished steps yet, however that wouldn't even matter because our yard is a total muddy mess!

Guests anyone?

We are slowly initiating the kitchen. Convection is working well-learning these new tricks is hard but rewarding and really kind of cool. I guess our old stuff was so out of date I went from behind the curve, to ahead of it! A bug jump in a short time. My counter stools (or more appropriately bar stools) are being broken in nicely and after our first dinner guests last night, I think things are getting back to normal! I like that. And of course since it is payday, I will be happy at the grocery store on my way home from school today! Filling up the fridge and cabinets is hard work and I am happy to do it!

Privacy please!

We are starting the day on a high note. The doors are well worth the wait! (How positive is that MM?) I think they will be finished up today. A little coat of paint and a door knob and we are ready to roll. All toilets are up & running and each potty now has a door! Excellent!

Music to my ears...

So I am skeptical. I feel that protects me. After months of the random wires hanging from the ceiling, Mike's musical masterpiece is ready for tunes. He bought himself a stud finder (which didn't really work) and a miniature saw and started to cut through the beautiful walls/ceiling. Well, as I doubter, I was proved wrong and now the music flows in the kitchen & dining room too. Very nice touch! I guess boys just know how to run wires when speakers are involved! And mom, even you would think Mike's beard looks good on him!

Thursday...

Maybe we will get those doors today. Everyday is a surprise-sometimes good, sometimes disappointing. However, for the first time yesterday, I realized that our kitchen might be pretty big. After I moved the food around & arranged my cookbooks, there was a lot of unused space. So, do I need to join costco to buy food in bulk (won't it get stale or old since there are only 2 of us?) or should I spread out what I have to make it look full? Everything will definitely have it's own shelf or drawer with room to spare. I need to fill with what I have or I will end up buying more "stuff" that we really don't need. Really, how often do I use my spring form pans, ceramic soup tureen and matching bowls, fancy cake stands, and panini press? Serving pieces are fun, but do I really need more?

Doors?

One can only hope at the end of a slushy, snowy day that the promise of hanging doors happens without a mess. Do men ever notice what a mess they make? With doors, the closet can be planned & organized and the tile in the bath can be finished. Although we are getting closer, we just aren't there yet. A lot of things out of my control (which I hate) some I try to ignore so I don't come across demanding, and others like peeling of the stickers on the windows and employing goobeegone isn't an exciting job. Why don't companies invest in better products that are consumer friendly?

Living again....

After some serious time in the laundry mat and a few rolls of quarters, the red sofa is back in action after quite along rest. And for the first time, without atlas lounging on it, I seem to think it looks nice when not covered with almost matching red sheets! How can we unteach those bad habits we (mike) let happen??
We have relocated the coffee table, aka "antique" trunk with rusty nails to a bed room and are deciding what to do now in the living room. i think we will be in planning stages for a while.
However, Mike set his priorities and got the stereo and DVD player hooked up last night. I must admit that is a really nice touch. I prefer music anyhow over the non-existent cable at this moment.
Thanks again to all my blog followers. it might be a while until another update-maybe when the kitchen clutter is done, or we get a bed....or the dumpster is removed, or sod is down..how about a front porch...yes, this job is not yet done. If only spring were right around the corner!!!
