Windows, part I

The replacement windows have arrived for part of the house. The pella windows for the big, old replacements are on order, and I think we are going to scrap the grids in the back doors to have the laminated blinds between the panes of glass so we can block out the sun on occasion, hide inside at night, and not need to hang any curtains, drill any holes, or require me to vacuum dog hair off any sort of fabric covering! Dad, I really think I am going to like that long window for our bedroom since it will be just like the one I had @119. Thank you!

Master bath

There were a few prerequisites to the master bath and one of them includes a shower wide enought for me to shamppo my crazy curls with my elbows wide. Seems silly, but our last shower was soooo small, I feel the need for a spacious shampoo, deep condition, and hook for my wash cloth! This framing shows the shower on left and the water closet on the right. What you cannot see includes the tub, which we need to apply for a grandfather policy or something and 2 sinks that will be all the way to the right.

Skylight

Yep, the dormer needs a form of light which really makes it bright all the time. I think having a skylight is going to be great until the neighbors giant tree loses all its leaves and they drift our way and cover up the glass. That could definitely become a potential problem--we may actually have to have our gutters and windows cleaned more than once a year!

Holy moly!

I thought the basement would be clean, but apparently the new water service has to make it to the inside somehow. Well, much like Shawshank with the bonus of power tools, the shelving was moved in the basement and the hole has been cut through the concrete, the mud has been dug out, and the path has been started to accomodate the new water line.

Exterior

Well the soffit and fascia look really good. All trim and ready to shine. The siding has been ordered. The windows will arrive next week & they even fixed the rotten boards on our garage-a much needed touch! I really can't wait to see the ropes and windows replaced!

Tiny guest room

See dad, that area is the non-cooperative corner in the room. The extra guest room has taken on an unusual shape as a result of the roof and lack of supporting wall. But really, what would an old house be if there weren't some unusual nooks and crannies? I guess I will just have to get a trundle bed or put the bed where the desk used to be on the other wall.

In & out

The copper pipes are looking good and are starting to make the house seem like it will function normally real soon. What a maze the system of water lines seems to be as the wrap and weave around each other, PVC , rooms and floors.
